EVS on Arrival Training in Canfranc

In early November the EVS volunteers hosted by IDEA had their on arrival training in Canfranc in the Aragonese Pyrenees. After a long Journey on the Sunday the 1st of November the volunteers arrived in Canfranc for a week of training sessions with 22 other European volunteers from across Spain. These sessions covered many topic including what is EVS, the history of Spain, a Spanish lesson,How to deal with issues with your host organisation and Cultural Diversity. In addition to this the volunteers got to participate in cultural activities like a tour of Canfranc, a visit to Canfranc Estacion and trip to Jaca. The week culminated in an intercultural fiesta where the Volunteers joined together in groups to make dishes that represent the variety of nationalities present at the training and celebrate the end of the training week. This week was very tiring but also very rewarding due to all the connections we made with other volunteers across Spain.

A principios de noviembre los voluntarios del SVE organizado por IDEA tuvieron su formación de llegada en Canfranc en el Pirineo aragonés. Después de un largo viaje el domingo, 1 de noviembre, los voluntarios llegaron a Canfranc para una semana de entrenamientos con otros 22 voluntarios europeos de toda España. Estas sesiones cubrieron muchos temas incluyendo lo que es SVE, la historia de España, una lección de español, Cómo resolver/ afrentar con problemas con su organización de acogida y la Diversidad Cultural.

Además de esto, los voluntarios llegaron a participar en actividades culturales como un tour de Canfranc, una visita a Estación de Canfranc y un viaje a Jaca. La semana culminó con una fiesta intercultural, donde los voluntarios se unieron en grupos para hacer platos que representan la variedad de nacionalidades presentes en la formación y celebrar el final de la semana de entrenamiento. Esta semana fue muy cansada pero también muy gratificante debido a todas las conexiones que hemos hecho con otros voluntarios en toda España.
