Welcome to … Ayuntamiento!

On the international Children’s day we the volunteers and interns paid our visit to the mayor of Alzira at his office.

It was us and our “parents” – supervisor Carmen and mentor Jose Manuel who lead us to the City Hall and interpreted for us (as our Spanish is still not top level).

A number of volunteers and interns gathered in a City Hall of Alzira to be greeted by the mayor and to learn more about local culture. The mayor welcomed us and clarified history of Alzira and the building of the City Hall. We were explained the symbols of the coat of arms and significance of CLAVE; the KEY element which opens the door and communication between the town and port. This way, we learnt a bit more about the town we currently live in.
