ABOUT THE PROJECT

 

The Youth for Nature Conservation in Alzira project focused on the lead of on-site conservation actions for young Europeans in Alzira region. The city and its surrounding benefit from relevant natural parks and sites (High hills, River side natural space). The volunteer helped the local public team from the city by bringing help on new point of view for the actions which need and/or should be needed. For the 3 volunteers, interested in the field of nature conservation, this project was a great experience where they gained a lot of competences.

Volunteers had  the opportunity to know how local authorities design and implement policies and activities for the conservation and respect for the environment and the dissemination of natural heritage and activities for the public awareness in the protection of the natural environment. Also, it was important the concept of the promotion of the active citizenship of young people, especially European citizenship, through activities for the promotion, conservation and enhancement of the environmental heritage of Alzira.

The young people who will participate in this project will had the opportunity to collaborate in activities that seek to promote a greater respect for the environment and nature in the public that around us, promote mutual understanding among young people, the opportunity to collaborate with local youth groups that support the City Council in the conservation and protection of the environment, will therefore have the opportunity to exchange experiences and propose ideas for the development of new projects and activities

MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THE VOLUNTEERS

 

- Act as an active agent of communication on good practices of the public visitors in the green spaces.

​

- Promote ecocitizenship.

- Help and orientate the visitors in the nature reserve.

​

- Travel across a defined green space and inform the coordinator about any incident or irregularities.

​

- Help the environmental department in its daily projects preparation and management.

​

- Collaboration in the dissemination tasks of the schools as well as the promotion of the European Union values and the Erasmus+ and European Voluntary Service values.

RESULTS OF YOUTH IN ALZIRA FOR NATURE CONSERVATION

​

• An important improvement of the volunteer's linguistic knowledge of Spanish.

​

• A remarkable contribution to generate self-confidence in their skills and for teamwork.

​

• Development of certain skills such as the assumption of the volunteers own responsibilities and tasks.

​

• A strong sense of enviromental conservation responsibility and its protection.

​​​

​

• Development of the ability to disseminate EVS and Erasmus + through seminars and seminars, being the volunteer the ultimate designer of his/her own personal project.

​​

• Deepening into European programs and projects in youth and mobility, creating counciousness and social awareness of the existance of this kind of transnational project and the importance in a personal and profesional aspects.

 

•  The imagineering, designing, development and promotion of enviramental conservation and dissemination activities with local youth, focusing in the importance of the European values.

​​

• Oganization of events and activities in coordination with the enviromental department of the City Council of Alzira.
