Parents School 1st meeting
On the 27-28 November 2015, the six organizing members of the European Project “Parents School” met for the first time in Alzira (Spain).
This project funded under the Erasmus + program addresses the adults teaching children at home, before they reach the school legal age. It will contribute to the education of adults who provide care for pre-school children at home (especially from disadvantaged families, who do not have the possibility to turn to specialized institutions) to acquire and improve their skills in this field. The project aims to promote good practices and develop an innovative training program, applicable at European level, for the education of informal in-home caregivers of pre-school children. It will also increase the quality of the caregivers’ life, and provide support, training and psychological counseling.
This project, directed by Asociatia EU-RO-IN (Romania), includes Ahi Evran University (Turkey), Ankara Provincial Directorate of Family & Social Policies (Turkey), the Municipality of Alzira (Spain), POLARIS (Italy) and SYNTEA (Poland).
These partners joined in Alzira for the first project meeting to clarify the project and create the path for a successful 2-year collaboration. They took this opportunity to visit two of Alzira´s public infant schools, in order to get accustomed with the Spanish educational system and the different projects developed by its teachers.
